  •  Summer Registration is Closed.  All Classes are filled.
  •  Welcome to the Literacy Center Summer Experience:  "Let's Go Camping!"
  •  If you want an amazing volunteer experience...Become a tutor at the Literacy Center.  You do not need prior teaching experience to be trained as a tutor in reading or math.  If you have completed the 4th grade, YOU can be a tutor!  
  • Summer Schedule:  Monday and Wednesday, or, Tuesday and Thursday  9am, 10am, 11am and 12 noon.

PRESIDENTIAL AWARD WINNERS- 2009
These wonderful tutors were awarded the President's Service Award at our annual Green Eggs and Ham event.  Together they represent over 4,100 hours of service to the Literacy Center.  Thank you wonderful people!!



Our theme for our 2011 summer session will be "Let's Go Camping!"  Students and tutors will have a fun adventure as they make progress through the program.  Bring a flashlight and come enjoy reading in a tent or by the fire.

Ultimate Makeover
 
Basketball Court Reading Area
  The Lehi Rippy Literacy Center is totally amazing!
In 2009, we received the NBA-Cares and theToyota Project Rebound grants. This gave the Literacy Center a total makeover. They refurbished the Center with a “basketball court” for reading (complete with basketball bean bags chairs), new carpet, paint, games and even new computers. It is a sight to behold and such an inviting place for learning!
 
We hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony with NBA players and community dignitaries. With the players towering above the students, who looked in awe, Hesther Rippy, along with a host of others, cut the ribbon to launch a new era in learning and a partnership with the NBA-D Utah Flash Basketball. The players read to students, played games and gave inspiration to an admiring audience. An author, Kevin Carroll, read to students and distributed copies of his book, Rules of the Red Rubber Ball.
 
We are very grateful for this generous support for our Literacy Center. We are always in need of tutors and know the blessings of making a difference in the life of another.
